NEW YORK GAMING SUMMIT MOVES TO HISTORIC SARATOGA SPRINGS

NEWS

LAS VEGAS (April 2, 2008) – Now in its seventh year, the New York Gaming Summit will make its debut in Saratoga Springs, June 24-25 at The Saratoga Hilton. Home to both a world-famous Thoroughbred racetrack and arguably the most successful racetrack video gaming facility in New York, Saratoga is a perfect locale to continue the Summit’s tradition of excellence.

The Summit has become a proven forum to discuss state and regional gaming issues, and some 200 gaming executives from nearly 20 jurisdictions attended last year’s edition in Niagara Falls. Presented by BNP Media Gaming Group, the conference lineup will examine how gaming has progressed in New York and what the future may hold.

“Gaming remains an evolving industry in New York, and with stunning political developments combined with a huge state budget deficit in a challenging economic environment, the future is uncertain,” said Charles Anderer, BNP’s Senior Events Manager, Gaming. “We will have plenty of business to discuss, and we also hope attendees will take advantage of the charm and history of Saratoga Springs.”

The opening conference session will examine the political and economic realities of gaming in New York, and what changes the industry might expect under new Gov. David Paterson. That is followed by a tribal gaming update, focusing on the continued efforts to bring casinos to the Catskills and the successes of the Seneca and Oneida Nations in other parts of the state.

Industry analysts will then provide a performance review of gaming operations in New York, looking at the bigger picture with respect to an increasingly competitive regional environment.

Closing out the busy conference are two sessions on racetrack gaming. One will review existing racetrack gaming models around the country, identify political and regulatory remedies that may be pursued, and explore how, regardless of the conditions, tracks can make the most of what they are dealt. The final session will provide an update on the current state of racetrack gaming in New York.

Industry vendors can reach key people in the New York gaming industry and beyond by becoming a sponsor or reserving an exhibit booth in the networking area. For more information, contact Lesley Grashow at (203) 938-2782 or grashowl@bnpmedia.com.
